It's a good and fat way to accumulate traffic. I would like to know if the services the site will render in promoting will be absolutely free?

Well I guess that is one way to get your site out there, I don't think most sites will consent to this without asking for some of the payment or even try to verify legitimacy of your site.

It is really worth it in the end especially if the program is free of charge. This will generate traffic to your website and more recognition. There are tonnes of websites that allow people to post links.

It's also a form of promotion - in fact, it's free promotion because that way you don't have to pay to have your link shared. There could be a link exchange among you guys - each persons shares the other's link.
It still works today especially if you know that the other person has large traffic.
