I have seen some people who set up forums just because it's their hobby. Making money from it is never their priority but if they eventually start making money from it, that's good as well. I will always like to make money from my forum. I waste all my effort for nothing.

That is true, there are a lot of people making some good amount of money on a platform on daily basis. Affiliate marketers use it specifically to promote their affiliate products. You need a landing page to do that because they do not allow direct affiliate links.

Well, the problem is that you just cannot simply make money by promoting your business or website in there. This would be tantamount to spamming. Many people simply leave their affiliate links in their signature.

I don't know whether leaving your affiliate link in your signature is allowed. You need to make use of a landing page so that you will not be banned from the website. This is what so many people I have come across do. Your write-ups also need to be very professional.

I wouldn't run a website for the sake of a hobby or having fun. It's a must that the website would be set up to make profits for me and not just generate revenue. Yes, I know that it's not always easy but that's always going to be my plan.
Me too, if I want to set up a website it will be strictly for money making. There are two things I will have in mind if I want to set up a website. One is using it to promote an affiliate product or a course and the other one is monetizing it through Google adsense and some other ads platforms.

I have 20 websites and over a dozen websites are making money for me. I make money mainly through adsense. I also make money through affiliate marketing, sponsorship, and product sale. If my websites were not earning I would have given up a long time ago.

I think that the better option would be to ask the forum admin or owner about it before you leave your signature on the forum. Some forums may allow that and some may not allow it. It all depends.

The main reason while people create a website is for them to make money from the website, no body will like open a business without making anything from the business, because you will not be happy if actually there is no money in the business.

I think every forum have their rules and regulations. It is important for you to read the rules and regulations so that you will not violate any of their policies. That way you can know if they support dropping of link on the platform or not.

Frankly in online nothing is free everyone wants generate some money from their source, whatever its blogs or websites because create a website also required some funds, like buy domin website registration, so that's why these platforms owners wants to earn that invested amount and make some profit also.

Actually only few will love to set up a site for hobby and I also believe alot of people who are into site development, is for the purpose of profit making.

I have seen so many people who set up their website for the primary purpose of getting rid of boredom. I think sometimes not everybody is interested in making money by setting up a website. There is also someone in my country who is arguably the richest blogger and she started by setting up a website as a hobby.

Though everyone has an opinion about websites development and the purpose to which it's developed. if not all many people develop site for the purpose of money making either for the advertisement of there products or any other forms of internet money making platform.

Yes, if you are not sure, then you can PM the admin or tag them. many people never bother to read the terms and conditions. They tend to make mistakes again and again.

There was a forum I was working on before and I wanted to give some kind of tutorials about a particular thing and after that I wanted to drop a YouTube link. What I did was that I asked the admin whether dropping of YouTube link was allowed and he said no. So I backed out. I think that is the way to go about it.

It is always a better thing to ask the admin before you do something like dropping your link. Some forums allow people to use their signature when it comes to promoting links.

Yes, I know of a forum that allows people to use their signature to drop any kind of link or do any kind of advertisement they want to do without attracting any punishment. Some don't also allow it.

Well, this is why I suggested that it is much better to ask the admins of the forum before you publish or add your link in the signature. I usually do not add any kind of link in my signature on any paid forum.
