From my own words and understanding, I can say that hosting is like getting a server or a house for your website to leave and domain is the do through which the house can be accessed. Domain is the navigator to your website
When you want to build a website, it starts with registering a domain, once you have the domain, you will need to buy a hosting. Your website does not go live without hosting. If you have just a domain, your website cannot be built
Domain is important for website for the main reason: Even you have a free blog at blogspot then a blog without a domain is untrustworthy by some advertising platform so it is required before advertising your platform to book a domain name.
So domain is important either you use a ready CMS or you will devellop your own VPS programmation like python or ruby or rails or reactjs or vuejs.
Hosting could be different so there is hosting for cloud or VPS or drive hosting so not all kind of hosting are for website develloppmenet for example drive hosting for host your files in external storage online (like Google Drive or Dropbox).
Seriously, thanks for shedding more light to this, I thought they really meant the same thing, probably one is the main one, while the other the sub.

I can say, I know how to create a blog site, and how to buy domain and hosting for it. But I'm not that an expert, still feeling nervous a little,Lol. Difference between domain and hosting is very high price and is it a business and earn a living and dining table and I will do everything in my latoken ma chaiya tha tab and is important to survive in the office tomorrow and earn a living so I suggest that you have a great weekend.
I will like to explain this two terms in an offline business terms. Domain is like a business name, an identity of a particular business while hosting is like the shop or office of operation.

If you have about $30 to spare you can buy domains and hosting for the first year. If you work hard n your website, I think you can easily recover your investment in the first year.
