The only contests that work are contests that are constant, aka monthly X Contest, if it doesn't reoccur it won't work. People constantly need motivation to come back, and if it's a one time gig, you'll get one time users.

Giving freebies or rewarding users has been one of the most salable contents when managing website. If you don't give your users what they want either by rewards or quality contents, the website is going no where.

I think that the most important contest that you are able to hold in order to try and boost the number of people that are active on that specific website he is mainly related to referral activity because if more people can promote the referral link it will help in order to broaden the Horizons of that specific website.

What kind of contests have you held to boost activity to your site? Which contests failed at bringing any traffic?
I've tried a few different types of contests to boost activity on my site, with mixed results. One contest that was successful was a photo caption contest. I asked visitors to submit a funny caption for a photo, and the prize was a $50 gift card. This contest was successful in generating lots of entries and also brought in some new visitors.

However, I've also tried doing contests where the prize was simply an entry into a larger drawing, and these have not been as successful. I think people are less likely to take the time to enter if they feel like their chances of winning are low. As a result, I've found that offering tangible prizes is the best way to generate interest in my contests.

I won't say there was a competition, but in my country we gave presents that are more popular. Because of the type of services I sell, I don't run contests. However, I do consider referral contests in particular, which help grow my audience.

Referral contests are the best competitions that anyone can run to increase website activity since the more people that visit a website, the more money it will make.

I don't have any website or social media following, so I've never held any contests, but I've observed other influencers doing that.

Running a social media contest is a great way to increase engagement, followers, leads, and brand awareness. But coming up with a strategy for your contest can be tricky.

You need to set the right goals, come up with a creative angle, and make sure it’s in line with your brand.

I don't own a website and so i haven't had to do anything to boost activity on my site. On can boost activity on one's site by organizing a referral contest or doing giveaway on one's site.
