Can .com and .org or .in be different sites ?

Assuming no , by having for eg: abcd.xyz , does it saves your privilege on .com and different spaces also ?

In short in the event that I own Abcdef.xyz , can some other person own an Abcdef.com later ?

Yes he can buy it as long as it's not reserved by local authority. That's why many webmasters register multiple extension domains even they are not using it to avoid someone will pick your name and than they do 301 redirect to main domain.

Right, different domains for different purposes, but I still think .com and .net are still the best there is..
