I want to specifically use third world countries as an example in the case. In any undeveloped society it's always difficult to get employer after graduation. No I want to know if it's more sensible to dump degree education to learn a skilll

Education is more important than skill. ... The academic education helps you in understanding the concepts behind the technology, science, society or whatever field you choose, but skill development is the thing that will help you in creating solutions and products, get a good job in a company, or become an entrepreneur

In an effective educational setting, western education is combined with technical education. After the first stages of schooling, you either choose to go for technical schools or college/university. Either ways, you will definitely be productive after graduation having great knowledge of both western and technical education.

Also, every course of study has technical aspects and the students must compulsorily partake in this for productivity.

I feel education is more important than having a skill, education gives you the core concept to understand the science of whatever field we choose though skill is what will give you the job and help you create solutions to problems.

I think both of these are very important, after completing education, we should also learn the skills of the things in which we have done education, because it will be very helpful in the future and things make easier for us.

Education is important same way skills are important...I believe that there are places that education can take you and there are places skills can take you.... Most time I believe education is overrated... people even get fake degrees nowadays.... There are plenty of graduates nowadays.... unemployment scores are hike but people with skills plus with creativity will always have food on their table.

Of course we can go to a good academy and make it better than our scale and we can become proficient in it by learning and practice is a very important thing that we should do every day that we have done in a school or academy. Which will make our skills much better and better.

School education and learning skills are both very important tools for success in life. If you have learning skills and not school education you may not succeed but if you dont have learning skills but have school education you can succeed because you can learn skills after school education time.

Education enlightens the mind, i can't under play the importance of skill acquisition and the role it plays in the economy of 3rd world countries using my country as an example. If one has the opportunity to acquire both which is most recommended so that you won't be disadvantaged in one at the end of the day.
A hybrid system of skills and education can be created and fused in our academic curriculum for better result.

I think both are really important in our generation today. Evidently from statistical records which shows that a huge number of Nigerian graduates are left jobless year after year and it's really increasing. But when you get a skill although it might be difficult at first to get consumers, with time you will be comfortably earning much on your own. Beside s, these days its has been proved that having a degree in a particular field doesn't make you an expert in that field.

Education is great, but learning a skill is very compulsory. One can go to school and have a lot of degrees and certificates and still be suffering because there is no job but a man with a skill can never suffer or beg for food. So educated is very good but skill acquisition is also very important.

Education is good, but I think skill gives the better rewards in the long run.if you look at people who have gone far and extremely rich.you will notice they are good in their choosen skills which now pays the bills.be it working for someone,or doing well in skills developed by talents.you need learn new skills to go far.

They are both important, I will suggest to do both. Many people leave their certificates and make a living with their skills. So if it is possible to couple skills with education, it is the best option. If you don't have skills especially in Nigeria you are at disadvantage already.

We increasingly hear employers, prospective students and futurists saying that it is all about the skills, not about the degree. What does that mean for higher education
Historically, employers made the baccalaureate, and in some cases advanced degrees, the gateway to an interview. If you did not hold the sheepskin, you would not get in the door. But times have changed. Rapidly advancing technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics, robotics and the advent of quantum computing have created an environment in which much of what is learned in college becomes outdated in a few short years. Certainly, the soft skills of creative thinking, critical thinking, communication and leadership do not go out of date and remain in demand by employers. But the hard facts and skills of most of the disciplines are changing as technology ripples through the economy and society.

I think both have their own values but skills always matter more than the just being educated, as a educated person with no skills or ability, is worse than an uneducated person with some skills.

When it comes to learning skills and going to school I would give any one who asked of my opinion to go for the two. With the rate of unemployment and how graduate wander before getting jobs. It is advisable to do the two, be learned and also learn at least a skill

Both education and skill acquisition are very good. Though I feel education is more important than acquiring skills. Because education brings out the best skill in anyone and education is also the foundation of anything.

You need to go to school for 12 yeara, after you can go anywhere you want, I mean you can start learning skills instead of going to a traditional college for traditional education
