The both options are applicable in different scenerios as they both have their advantages and disadvantages . You should learn both if you have the time because you are likely to get gigs at different intervals. You should use YouTube to know concepts then I will recommend you go to udemy next.

Our organization's website was running on Wordpress design. It is an e-magazine that needs to upload 4 articles every week. It was quite easy to do the uploading but I am not comfortable with doing the design. I prefer Dreamweaver (although I think that is an old one for you). With HTML it would be tedious to learn web design.

Even though learning programming or using programming to design a website is effective I see that WordPress is also taking some shape in the Content management system as you don't need to know anything about programming before you can be able to design your website

I think that's why the easiest way to learn designing is online. We can do anything online and web designing work will be better online and it will save time. We will learn better in time and after learning the job of web designing we will work on it and make a profit. We have to take it further and learn web designing course from there.

Many young designers often misunderstand the concept of web design, web design is about design, not about coding and front-end development. Of course, it would be great if you know some coding language (HTML, CSS, Java), but you can’t get yourself deep into front-end development, that’s not the core of web design. Web design is to solve the communication problems between users and web page information.

By doing. People learn by actually creating websites.
By using online resources. Everyone at some point finds answers online about how to design websites.
By reading. This one surprised me. Most designers say they learn web design, in part, by reading books.

The easiest and cheapest way is to use YouTube for free tutorials. Unfortunately, the learning may not be structured. Thus it is good to use sites like Udemy or Lynda.com for structure learning at your own pace.

Lately I started learning web design. I started with the basic HTML then went on to CSS. While I was doing this, my friend who was a novice also decided to use Wordpress to learn web design. It got me wondering. Which is better in designing a website? WordPress or HTML
I use WordPress to customize my a website from the scratch. But it doesn't mean everyone will be comfortable using WordPress for customization of his or her site. Even if its a software use in website building, i think other options should be considered too.

I think the best way to learn web design is to watch YouTube videos and then start to create your own web sites with unique design. Practise is very important. You get better with practise. Using Google is a must. Google is a useful tool to learn much more.

If you're completely new to the world of web development, I would recommend starting off with just HTML and CSS and staying away from WordPress for a while. W3Schools is a great site to learn how to write HTML and CSS code and is very beginner friendly. Another great way to learn is to simply look at the page source of existing sites. It helps you to find out how certain things are coded.

The end goal will determine what is needed for you to learn web design. If you want to know how to design a data driving website or the one with full of animations and motion pictures then you can choose HTML. what price is good for if you just want to build a simple website that does not require much coding.

Lots of people talk about how difficult it is to use WordPress to build a website from the scratch. But I'm finding it easier to learn and advance gradually through WordPress than in HTML, CSS coding type.
