I'm looking into buying an electronic drum kit for recording and playing without getting people mad (I work nights, and no one really likes hearing drumming on the other side of a wall at 3am).

My price range is anything under $2,000... and that's a relatively hard limit.

I started with the Alesis DM10 Studio kit all picked out, but after about 2 months of reading and changing my mind, the kit I am eyeballing right now is the Roland TD-9KX2.

I just want something that has good response and good/realistic feel. I am quite opposed to rubber pads.

Any other suggestions on comparable or better kits than what I currently have picked out?
