Are mini computers becoming the standard?

I am seeing more and more of them pop up onto the market. It seems like everything is getting smaller and more compact. I am considering getting a mini myself just because the tower I use now takes up so much space on my desk and a mini can just be mounted to the back of my monitor.

No one like carrying bulky laptops anymore. People are now going for mini computer because of its convenient and portability when it comes to usage. And the battery life are better also..

Mini PCs are great for minimal desk setups. They also consume less energy than a tower PC. Although you can't play games smoothly on them, they are great for office use.

I don't know about the standard, maybe in business, but they can only do so much. You could potentially use them for business, but for play, not so much. You could do some light gaming on them, but won't be able to play newer graphic intensive games. But, mini computers aren't meant for that anyway, it's mostly meant for business needs or for just personal computers or even streaming boxes.
