When it comes to web design and designing a website, do you want to add any types of animations to spice the site up? I have considered adding animations, but when I do, I always remember my grandma when she used the web. She always had problems when sites were all fancy and had graphics, videos and animations. I think that causes somewhat a disconnect with elderly consumers.

I think that sites should be minimal, but look good. All sites need to do is get a point across and look good doing it. It doesn't need to be a masterpiece to be good.

Animations for what purpose? If you are talking about the slides, then these are pretty normal, they exist in lot of websites and they don't usually consume your computer ressources, it's really up to you

This depends on what kind of site you have. If your site is service-oriented and you generate revenue by selling services., you will need an explainer video on the home page. People do not have time to read your long about us page, they will prefer a quick explainer video with a nice animation.

When it comes to design and animation it all depends on the website and the type of message the web is trying to pass. If you feel people will relate better to certain colour combinations and animated designs, perhaps you did a research and you find out it works ,then definitely go for it . There is no such thing as too much.

I would advise you to use a short video instead of animations as it is a lot easier for one to comprehend and also would be a time saver. In conclusion I won't advise you to use animation. A short video would do the job.

Adding or including an animation in a web development is not really necessary, though it depends on the individual taste and what type of website is going to be. I don't really like a site clogged up with fancy fancy animations, let the interface look good and friendly to the people accessing it

Using animations in a site is alright, but I depends on what type of site it is. If it is an advertisement site or a site that sells products online, it alright but it should be minimal, but if it's a site that's business oriented or a company site, it's not really advisable as it might pass the wrong message.

There are some niches Animation can be a good addition to the websites, one of such is gaming niche. Animation can only be hood at the home page of website just for presentation. But when it comes to selling having animation can affect the side loading speed, and most of the online consumers are impatient. So this may prompt the to navigate away and thereby lose sales.

Including animations in your site is a matter of choice and also the purpose of the website..... for example if you want to create a educative website for kids of about 2-10 years it's very necessary that you use animations... it will aid their learning process...... I see no need for animations in a money making website.... To me it's of no use

It's not a bad idea. Animations are very interesting, and it all depends on where interests you.
Personally I won't mind, I have seen some websites use it and it looks cool on the website.

The use of animation on your website is not a problem and should never be a problem.

What you should ask yourself is this, is the animation on your website communicating any message to the audience or are just mere attracting them? What are the motive behind the use of them. And above all even if you use, it should be of moderate appearance.

This reminds me when I was hired as technical consultant of a big organization in the movie industry. Their website was created by a contractor. But on their side the website couldn't be accessed that it will hit a timeout period. I went to an internet shop with a faster internet access. That's where I saw the animation after more than 1 minute of waiting. When I had that animation removed the access was normal that the users in our office could see the home page of our website.

It actually makes one's website look good and appealing but the only problem is that if you're not careful it may affect the loading speed of your website and it's very bad for business.

People don't like to waste their time on websites that loads very slow, so it may drive your visitors away.

Depends on what kind of website you have built. If the home page is the landing page, I think animation can be good to raise curiosity in visitors mind. However, if your website is primarily a content site animation is absolutely not necessary.

There is good and bad side of it. The good side of it is if the animation is relevant to the content of your blog then it's an additional promotion to your blog. The visitors that visit your blog will see something attractive to keep them for long. The bad side is it can make your blog to load slowly and thereby keep the visitors away from your blog.

According to experts, homepage serves as the best spot. This is because the homepage is usually the first page a user will see when he or she visits a website, and will also make a judgment based on it. Thus, animations should be used on a homepage as it can help improve bounce rate and provide other benefits as well.

It likely it slow down the speed of the website. Keeping an homepage or other menu page simple and catchy is the beauty of a websites. For every brand website out there, their site entails the use of picture or video to portray a message but not animation that makes it look heavy and slow in response.

Animation in web design” – It is the most discussed topic in today’s web design market, as it has forced almost every designer to think whether they should use animation in their web designs or not. However, if we look at the survey of design-forward websites, we will find that web animation and motion has become a standard feature for almost every website.

An animation effect is a special visual or sound effect added to a text or an object on a slide or chart. It is also possible to animate the text and the other objects using the buttons on the Animation Effects toolbar. You can have organisation charts appear

It’s also important to place the animation in the right place so that it can get the attraction that it needs. According to my own view, the homepage serves as the best spot. This is because the homepage is usually the first page a user will see when he or she visits a website, and will also make a judgment based on it.
