Anyone else running XF playing with them as a landing page/portal? I've put it off for a while... but have just started playing with the ability. Now, instead of landing on my "forums" area as the landing page, you actually hit the portal that is using various widgets.
I've got a lot of playing to do as some of the widgets I want to "custom style"... so have to figure that out.

Yes I do that for my site. :)

This is the code I do for the page node:

Code:
<xf:h1 hidden="true" />

<xf:css>
.bookmarkLink.button {
    display: none;
}
</xf:css>

<xf:widget key="Recent_Articles_Grid" />
<xf:widget key="forum_overview_new_posts" />
<xf:widget key="Latest_Applications_Full" />
<xf:widget key="Latest_Films" />
<xf:widget key="latest_reviews_carousel" />
<xf:widget key="Scholarship_Reviews" />
<xf:widget key="AMS_Modular_Latest_Admissions_Interviews" />
<xf:widget key="AMS_Modular_Latest_Rankings" />
<xf:widget key="AMS_Modular_Latest_Film_Student_Interviews" />
<xf:widget key="LatestBlogEntries" />
<xf:widget key="Latest_Scholarships" />
<xf:widget key="topgradschools" />
<xf:widget key="topugradschools" />

<xf:widget key="forum_overview_members_online" position="sidebar"/>
<xf:widget key="xa_rms_latest_reviews" position="sidebar"/>
<xf:widget key="topmembers" position="sidebar"/>
<xf:widget key="mostliked" position="sidebar"/>

<xf:widget key="forum_overview_forum_statistics" position="sidebar"/>

<xf:css>
.p-breadcrumbs {
display:none
}</xf:css>

Looks good. I'm still exploring the different aspects of Bob's widget setups.... got to hit his site to get some "knowledge".

Super easy... if you want to hop on the phone, just shoot me an inbox.
Yep...turned out it's actually easier to create the page and use the widgets than I expected. I'm pretty happy with the layout currently, but still tweaking positioning. I love the way you think out your add-ons for use.
