Who taught you to cook?

To be able to cook, we all would have needed to be taught by someone. Some of us may have been taught to cook by our mum or even our grandma and others may have been taught by another family member or even a friend.

I was taught to cook by both my mum and my grandma growing up, most of what I know now is what I was taught and the rest is what I learned myself.

Well, I learned how to cook in Home Ec class in jr high school! I still remember a lot of the lessons we learned and little tips. After that, I'd say it's my husband's family who gave me tips on how to make really good Italian food. Yum.

My dad mostly here. He taught me to cook most stuff, but I also learned a bit at school too.

She used to teach me how to cook something efficiently....however, it's kinda hard for me to remember those recipes.

I found stuff online and go by that recipe myself. I sometimes have to double or triple it for my family though. It's me and my parents plus another family member. So 4 people.

It's not easy to cook for more people.
I often notice that it's easy to cook for 2 people or so but having to cook for 4.... Or above...I kinda mess up the dish as it's hard to measure the ingredients.

After I quit Home at 16 I taught my selth to cook using Library books (No Internet back then !)
Early attempts were not good but I soon got a lot better at it.

Besides home ec in school, I'm self taught. Still, despite not having an important and soul defining mentor, I'd consider myself a pretty good home cook! I've been quite good at throwing myself at various cook books, especially cook books which teaches and challenges cooking techniques.

My mom did and it was a good time for me to enjoy learning from her. She did her best in teaching me how to prepare most of our local dishes too.

My father and mother both had cooking skills. Father cooked occasionally but whenever he cooked, he made delicious food. I learned cooking from my father as well as mother. However, they never taught, I learned by watching them.

I was taught how to cook by my mum. My mum did a good job to teach all of us including the boys. She said that cooking is not really meant for girls only, that's why my brothers are also expert in cooking too.

That's nice of your dad. For me, my mom was the foundation for me learning how to cook. She made it easy by writing the steps down right from when I was a kid, and I didn't find it difficult making meals as I grew into an adult.
