As a graphic designer, you will be needing a lot of images, illustrations, vector images, etc. for your designs. It is not possible to create everything you want by yourself, you need to outsource your images, illustrations, etc. If you are a pro, you already know where you can get the images you want. However, if you are just starting you might be looking for recommendations. Here are a couple of sites where you can find anything you wnat.
Stock Photo: It is one of the most popular stock photo libraries. However, this is a paid service. Once you buy the image you wnat, you have all rights including commercial rights
Pixabay: This is a free site, no subscription fees, no pay per image fee. However, if you want you can tip the image creator.
Pixels: This is also a free site, but for better images you need to pay.
FreePik: This is my ideal choice. Even though this is a free platform, you need to pay to access premium serrvices. You can find anything on this site, from, images, illustrations, vector images, even psd files (photoshop documents)

This is a great list of sites for bloggers who are also looking for pictures.

I've worked with both pixels, pixabay and stock photos but not Freepik. There are times I need vector images to suit my post. This will come in handy.

That's interesting, I have always sourced a website to pick quality images for my blog site. Because I can't create everything on my own. I made some stunning banners, flyers for my site, but grew tired of making more fancy images. I usually buy from 500pix, they sell nice looking for too. I will utilize some of the options you mentioned here, thanks.

Never heard of 500pix. When I have to use images for my blog posts, I always get them from pixabay. Pixabay is completely free site, and has a huge database of images and illustrations. Pixels is also good but there is limited option for free photos. However, for design needs (if I need psd files, vector images), I always use freepik.

Absolutely these are the best sites from where we can get free images for graphic designing and for logo designing, I am working on that many websites, if I want free images, then I get it right here it is very useful and quality images.

Even when picking images from those websites, make sure you make researches before using it, a single tiny small picture can ruin all the effort you spent on a simple project, same goes to logos

There are many beautiful and perfect images on different websites like, like pixabay, istock and shutter stcok. You can get as much picture there as you required. They are totally free.

Thank you so much for this useful information. I am also a beginner as i have started my work in graphic designing just few months back and you given information of sites will definitely help me in doing my work.
Once again thank you and Bizdustry for giving us such platform that gives useful informations.

As a graphic designer is very important to always use picture that are royalty free for the job. Whenever I need picture for simple design, here are the sites that I pick free picture:

1 freepik

2 Pixel

3 IstockPhoto

5 Royalty Free etc

Yes,I think free royalty image websites are very good options. You can also consider taking some images with your camera and edit to your taste if you're good with editing. You can also screenshot some videos and use those screenshots as image. You can also create some graphical illustrations and use them as your images.

Infact this is an eye opener,as I used to believe that as a professional graphic designer it is your responsibility to create what you need.
I even told a cousin who is learning and keep wondering how her boss could do everything perfectly, that it's professionalism.

There are so many online platforms that offer great images. A great example is Unsplash which offers a multitude of high-quality images for personal use. Pixabay, snapwire and flicker are very good too.

I only know of pixabay it is a great site and I have used it couple of times . I think it is great that you listed other websites, I will make sure to check them out . Also a lot of people who are foreign to this or have no clue where to get images from can benefit from this.

There different website where you can get pictures for your design but most of them you have to subscribe but you can also get high quality free pictures from unsplash and freepiks.com but you can also download from shutter stock and envato.com

Thanks for the information, there are other couple websites that provide images, quality ones for either casual design or website design like life of pix, picjumbo, imfree and unsplash. You can try them out as well.

Getting the right image, with the correct dimensions, and at the right time can be a tedious job atimes. If you are well familiar with getting images online, you will know there are websites whose own job is to provide you with images either free or with payments. Either ways, the most important thing is to get the right one.

For you to get an image there are some specialize applications that can help you in getting some colourful and beautiful pictures that will make your work to be attractive and nice, so you can check your playstore for that.

I use pixabay when I need images to use on my blog posts. I also use pixels sometimes. I am not a graphic designer, however, when I want to do some designing, I choose images from these sites. I have also used freepik once or twice.
