For me, it's whether or not I can get enough traffic to it to keep it alive. I have made a lot of forums over the years, some better, some worse, and my biggest concern is always filling it up with users and keeping it active. What is your biggest concern when it comes to your forum?

I would have to say at the moment, the biggest concern for me would be getting the traffic and keeping the traffic and also gaining the members and keeping the members active and engaged.

With social media being as popular as it is now, that makes it difficult for forum owners to always reach the right audience.

My biggest concern is getting members and activities. Currently, I have three active forums, none of my forums have more than 1000 posts and more than 50 members. If I can get active members on my forums, traffic and revenue would build up but in absence of members and activities, my forums are not growing.

Getting new members. It is hard to compete with social media and steal users from them. I get a good amount of organic traffic. People come and read. But to make them stay, it is hard.

To the best of my knowledge, the biggest concern that every forum owner gets worried about is traffic and activities. They really need more active members that are actively posting high quality contents in their community. This is the only way they can make money from their forum monetization.

My biggest concern about my forum is these three problems. They are ;

1. How to get more traffic?
2. How to get more active members?
3. Preventing DDoS attack.

Preventing DDoS attack worries me too much because after witnessing what Forum Promotion went through, I wouldn't want this experience.

This is it!! I have been hearing about DDoS attack up and down but with what went down with Forum Promotion, I saw first hand how evil DDoS attack can be. It wasn't just Forum Promotion that was affect though, there were some other forums that was affected too. RIF was crippled too for weeks.

If I own a forum I will focus on members, their safety also how to make them active. I will make sure they enjoy the forum to their very own satisfaction.

It is always very important for you to make sure that your community members are always satisfied with making use of your forum. This is because that is the only way that they are going to enjoy being around on your site for a very long time.

Even if they step away for some time, they will always find their way back to enjoy the contents that are always interesting to discuss on in the forum.

Yea your right content too matters. Mostly members do come back because of the content available in the forum. One can have enough users and members at a particular time but due to lack of interesting content they will all vanish and never even peep again at the forum.

There's nothing else to do in forum but engage in discussions on different contents that are in the forum. When members registers and including the old existing members come but doesn't find any contents to discuss on, they will go away.

Well, I don't have any forums of my own but I agree with your point that getting traffic to your site or forum is a real challenge that most site or forum owners face because starting a new business/forum is easy, but keeping it active is not easy for everyone.

Yeah, that's very correct. It's a fact that forums have been suffering in hands of what social media platforms have been doing, making it very difficult for forums to catch a break. So, when you're not doing more to get traffic and new members to your community, it's going to be very difficult for you to make any progress.
