What is university like?

I still have a little time before I have to apply for university. Just wanted to know from current university students what it's like for them? Are they in the university halls? Catered or self-catered? Anything else...

Hi. I deliberately waited a while before answering this question cause I just moved to uni 3 weeks ago. I would say so far that the social aspects of it have been really good despite the circumstances. Made some really good friends and had some great times with them. I just started lectures this week and there has been quite a lot of information around but I am sorting it all out. I would say it will take some time to adjust to the style of learning because it is mostly independent learning at uni. Unis will just put up the lecture slides which has some of the information but, you will have to do all the reading and learning yourself. I have booked some office hours for a few modules (where possible) and will need to book an appointment with my academic advisor too. It is overwhelming at first but with organisation, I hope it will be fine.
