What do you think of proboards?

Burn it with the blackest fire possible! I find it hard to believe the software is still going, it's pretty junky compared to everything else.

You get what you pay for, really. ProBoards is free forum hosting that displays advertising on your board in return for the service they offer. Some of their ads cover content, are malicious, and annoying. If your a webmaster, your best bet would be looking into premium host options. I can't say for certain whether or not I would join because of their hosting choice, it depends on a number of factors.

I don't like it. It is honestly not the best looking forum software at all and there are way better free options out there

I remember when the first person who created my forum started it on proboards, I remember fighting off hackers and spammers a lot compared to other software setups.

I've never used ProBoards and I never will. I don't think I've ever joined a ProBoards forum either. I tend not to join any free software powered forums, unless they're MyBB or phpBB - which are the only decent free forum softwares, in my opinion.

What is a proboard actually? this is a concept that i am not familiar with to be honest and from what i have seen here it seems that it is a way to advertise on the forum?

As from official information ProBoards is the largest host of free forums on the Internet. We provide the best forums and customer service to help your online community thrive so it is good option for people who wants to have forum.

This is the first time that i am hearing about this company however if they are so large then it shows that they are reputable and this is amajor selling point.

I am a member on a lot of proboards forums but never used it for my won forum. If you want to use a free hosted forum, I think this is a nice option. I like it. However, I always believe that free forums should be strictly avoided and instead use oipen source platfor with your own domain and hosting.
