What do you think is the best way to combat information manipulation and misinformation?

To be honest, I am not very sure that it is possible to somehow change it, because due to degradation, some people simply cannot distinguish a lie from the truth. There are some news that are simply impossible to believe with common sense and logic, but thanks to people who know how to manipulate this information, there are those who completely trust it and perceive it as the truth.

Do your own research, and get to the source. It's really interesting what you learn when you don't depend on others to tell you what to believe. Two examples that I can think of are 1) the Bible, and 2) diet and nutrition. Most of what so-called Christian churches teach is from creeds not scripture. Most of what western medicine pushes as "healthy" and "not healthy" is actually the opposite of what they teach.
