Also, its always recommended to keep your AV updated.

I don't recommend AVG because of their false positives.
My fav free one is Avast and paid one is Kaspersky!

Really the only thing I use to protect my computer is MalwareBytes. It does the job.

I had McAffe AV but there constant need for me to update every minute drove me mad, uninstalled them about 4 months ago now I'm running with nothing, haven't had any encounters with viruses!

Didn't the owner/ceo of McAffe get involved in the murder of someone? I think I read an article about him running from police who were looking to question him.

As i am on a Mac, there isn't many AV's for OSX, but I use one by a company called Sophos, they are very good!
