It's everyone's dream (almost) to make their website a success. However, it's not possible to get good enough activity even after waiting for years. So, how do you track your incomes and expenditure for your website?
Also, will there be a set mark for you, to give up on a website completely?

It's not a good idea to keep on supporting a sinking ship.
So, what are your opinions on this? Is it a good idea to keep on putting money in a website which doesn't have much activity?

When I created my own website back then, I knew that I would need to pay enough money in order to get a professional website and this was the reason why I started a website on a subdomain and started a free website without any cost. I think that it is a good idea to get an idea about how to run a website before actually starting a website and this is what i encourage people to do before they start a fully developed website.

if you are building a blog, then from the beginning you should clearly spell out your reason of building it, is it for profit or it is something you like. if it is foor profit, then you have to spend to get the required result.

To track the performance and success of your site, you most be able to set a target and working towards achieving such targets by keeping all financial records both on income and expenditure.

You could also try the NameCheap service, they allow you to create your own website and create you own domain name as well. It is a very popular platform.

Its important to plan for everything creating a blog. Today, what I see people doing is planning after creating blog. If everything is done well, a website should be bringing income 6 months after creating it.

it is very true, if a website is properly planned, then it should be bringing in income six months after your official launching and not the other way round that we witness on a daily basis now.

This is actually very true. It is always important and necessary for you have a free website so that you will use it to know how to run a website effectively before you will spend money creating a professional website.

I started my website with subdomains and a free website because I knew I would have to pay for a professional one when I was constructing it.
I believe it's a good idea to be familiar with website administration before creating one.
Doing this before launching a fully finished website is an excellent idea.

If the website isn't bringing in expected income, then there should be a cut back on expenses and other means to generate income should be invented. Tracking expenditure and income can be through use of software

No, as much as it isn't good to easily give up on one's website, it isn't not also good to keep putting money on a website which doesn't have much activity especially if one has tried ones best to bring in activity into the website.

My websites management costs is very small. I spent around $300 per year for domain renewals and hosting renewals (for 20 websites). I spend about $500 for promotion and content development. All of my websites do not earn, but some of my websites earn really well and I can easily manage the cost

You can better monitor and manage your money by using accounting software to keep track of the revenue and expenses from your website. You can also use the data from Google Analytics to track revenue from different sources
