Web development vs programming?

Which one is harder in your opinion?
In my opinion Web development is harder.

That is because you (mostly) need to be able to do computer programming to do web development and you have additional requirements like knowing how your environment works. how database works, how to deal with security and how to design user experience. Not to mention good aesthetics.

Now if you ask if web development or game development is easier, than web development is easier.

Basically computer programming is used everywhere in IT in one form or another. What makes it harder or easier are all additional dependencies you need to deal with. Like mathematics and algorithmic with game programming.

At the same time even if web development has quite well defined goal, it is still very broad subject. There can be very difficult web development (like Photoshop inside a browser) which will be much harder than most of standard stuff you will ever do. And there can be way easier like static sites which are elementary school projects in this days.

It should be which one is more difficult between "web design" and "web development".
Back to the question, I am a full stack web developer (Front end and back end). I don't think one is more difficult than the other. I only think you have to go for one that suits you and not necessarily the two.
A front end developer is one that have a graphical imagination of how the user interface should be. Such developers code using HTML/HTML5 , CSS/CSS3, JavaScript and so on. Some refer to them as web designers.
While a back-end developer deals with the part that can be seen by the user. They make use of PHP, JavaScript, Python and so on. You might come across jquery, nodejs, angular, react and the likes.
So, it doesn't matter. I've come across people that are really good at coding but don't know the user imagination hence they are not really good at web design, instead, they prefer web development.

I have been into programming and web design although programming was my forte particularly in mainframe programming. With web design I have a handicap because of my partial color blindness. In programming it was my profession and I can say it is harder than web design because programming has no basic pattern. It always depends on the kind of program that you will do.

I think both web designing and programing are the main work on internet to earn money and enjoy their life. But before starting business of wen designing and programing we should take training properly of both works then we should start.
