Using a Subdomain

Several free hosting sites like 000webhost and InfinityFree.com let you use subdomains. Do you like subdomains? Some people might be snobs against them cause they think they are less independent looking. Do you feel that's important? Have you ever used subdomains?

The only subdomains I have used are free blogging sites and website builders like blogspot, WordPress, weekly wix, etc. I have also used subdomains of my own websites, or article sites like hubpages. However, I have not used subdomai of any Web host.

I would always avoid using free domains that have your site.example.com. The reason? Well, any domain authority you build up with backlinks will be directly pointing your domain in question but if something was to happen to that web host, or you wanted your own domain you’d lose all the domain history.

I used subdomains of x10 when I was first starting out, but I recommend just getting your own domain. The site credibility you get from having a real domain is worth the 10 USD a year.

Blogspot subdomains are the least injurious, however.

On InfinityFree.com they got a free SSL but it's too difficult to implement. In that case, I'd want to go for the subdomain. Who has tried that company?
