URL shorteners

Does anybody here has some experience with URL shorteners that you can use to monetize your content? I am talking about stuff like AdFly. I, in particular, had failed to see any revenue from that but maybe it has to with the fact that my traffic is yet so low. Any techniques for making your links more attractive? What could be a reasonable expectation for the money that you can make out of these links relative to the number of your visitors?
