Transition of Bizdustry to Admin Junkies

After talking with @joelr privately I am pleased to share with you that Bizdustry's content will soon be merged with Admin Junkies.

I am excited to announce an evolution and an exciting new path for the Bizdustry community! Today marks a new era for Bizdustry, as we will offer new pathways for our members to participate in a broader array of discussions than ever before.

For existing members of Bizdustry, your member data and content will be transferred to our partner at Admin Junkies, one of the largest and most trusted forums in the webmaster niche. Once migrated to Admin Junkies, you will be able to immediately jump into a decade's worth of forum promotion, digital marketing, SEO, and admin discussions. Admin Junkies will also be the home of Bizdustry's topics in investment, business news, earning money, cryptocurrency, and general forum discussion.

Bizdustry itself will be redefining itself for the future in an electrifying new manner. Same name, but with a new vision and focus on Electric Bikes!

We’re also considering to rebrand completely, but there are a number of factors to consider. Biggest concern is that you’ll loose all SEO Strength.

There isn't much SEO strength here. And when merging both, you'll need to restart somewhat anyway. Crawlers will do their work and that's that. 301's need to be in place and you're good to go.

It doesn't really matter to me but if there was a commitment to rebranding, I would highly recommend replacing the word 'junkies' as it has a negative connotation and doesn't ad any SEO value.

That's not actually entirely true. It doesn't have any negative impact, as it's not blocked by Google. Only unless you start having malicious content will it really have a negative impact. Could it be better? Sure, no one's going to type in "admin" and "junkies" unless you know the website.

My point is the phrase junky/junkies is usually a derogative term with a negative connotation, relating to drug addiction, therefore if @joelr decides to rebrand, it's worth considering. For example, the phrase 'webmaster' or 'business' in the domain name would have more practically and SEO benefit.

I would advise against a rebrand until after the merge has already been done. I did a rebrand, and I'm kinda regretting parts of the rebrand. What I did in the rebrand is refresh the database completely. Killing all SEO. So, you BEST have all the links retained. Anytime.

The old website had like thousands and thousands of inbound traffic. Without any pagerank, you can never recover.

Just merge the database into Admin Junkies first, then consider the rebrand. That way, all requests from domain "A" to domain "B" is maintained. I did this in the transition from PS4Forum to PS5Forum. PS4Forum was on vB4, and I converted the database into xenForo, then put redirects in place so the parking of PS5Forum was strong enough.

With DestroyRepeat, my original plan was to keep everything the way it was, without any issue. But I discovered exploits and I'd known about it for a while now. I was planning to refresh the database, but keep the old links, but what I did is not maintained the old ID's because I'd need to remember the password for MY username/pass. Or something else. I forget which. Either way, that was a bad move, so all those thousands of inbound traffic? Gone.

So, y'all need a plan.
