The essence of riches and wealth

As a kid then, I thought life is all about food and food and food alone.
I use to have that believe that whatsoever wealth and riches a man can accumulate is towards making or bringing food to one's table alone until I met this quote by A. S. Oyi that said and I quote " riches without influence is like a vacuum".
After coming across the above quotation, I then realized that life is worth more that gathering riches to meet the demand of the stomach.

My point of view is that wealth is not everything, there are more important things that are health, love, friendship among other things, money is necessary to support ourselves economically, but everything else is valuable to live.

Yeah, Gathering riches and buying stuff we like is awesome. But we alsl need to give and donate from that wealth to poor people I think that's where the satisfaction comes from, that you are able to help people in need is a great influence.

I agree with you, wealth is never everything. Though wealth may attract plenty of things to you like favour, Fame and their likes but wealth can't offer you life, it can only in way secure it pending it elapsed time.

Wealth and riches are nothing compared to having a happy family and good relationship with friends. The only happiness it will give you is the ability to buy anything you want. But it won't give you the love and care from someone.

If you're wealthy and have a happy family, then that's great. But if you sacrifice and disregard your family in hopes to become rich, I think time will come and you'll regret it.

The importance of money in this life cannot be overemphasized. Is it for food alone? What about other basic needs of humans? I'm not encouraging greed or love of money, but a healthy perception of it is necessary for us to live.

Money is definitely not everything, but evidently alot of people this day have been blinded of this truth.it really easy to confuse this fact,after all we have all been taught that the basic needs of a man is clothing, food and shelter. Now there is money which can take of it all, it is pretty much like the earthly universal key that opens every door not just the needed ones. Back to your questions, the essence of money has different meaning according to different people, for some they need money to be able to be able to "never watch their kids or family members starve",for some they need money to never watch another loved one get sick and he or she not been able to pay the medical bills and watch helplessly as dies.

I was watching a movie once, this guy was well paid and well compensated in his place of work but he chose to be very frugal in his spending and live like a pauper, when asked why he said that though he was a very intelligent student, he was discriminated for being poor, the other children always made it known to h that he was poor, so he spent less than 10% of his income, saving the rest for his future family.
The importance of wealth can't be overestimated, the its not everything but its important.

The real essence of riches and wealth is to touch the humanity. There is the reason we have charity organization catering for the less privilege and poor Poeple around the world. But shallow minded poeple has turn it upside down and started using the wealth to press the poor and the less privilege.
