Stocks, ETFs and Mutual Finds: Which is Profitable?

I believe stocks can be more profitable than ETFs and Mutual Funds. However, stocks are also risky compared to ETFS and Mutual Funds. Between ETFs and Mutual Funds, ETFs can be better investment tool because you can trade ETFs in the market, where as that is not possible for Mutual Funds. What do you think>
