Staff using their first names?

When it comes to names anyone decide to use online, whether it's a staff or ordinary forum member, it's his or her business. It doesn't matter if it's their real name or just about anything. Take for instance, my online presence name have been Heatman since 2011 till date. I haven't used any other name even in forums where I work as a staff, it's always Heatman and that's my nickname.

There's nothing wrong in employee using a first name so far he or she is comfortable with it. It's professional, but I won't say it's more professional as it's a personal choice.

Many employees have an employee number and they also use their first name. This number is generated by the company. This is assigned to the employee so that they could be identified.

I don't care about what name they are using, I am fine as long as the name sounds human, I don't know why some members prefer to use numbers in their usernames.

i believe it is very professional using your first name, there is no issue with that for me, all i am interested in is getting the job done, in a timely and great way then the rest things are secondary.

I don't think there is anything that is wrong for a staff of an organisation to be going by his first name, because it all boils down to the organisation and how they persive such gesture in the work place.

Yes, there are many people who regularly use their first name, but I would consider using my pen name or some kind of unique username instead of using my real name.

Like i say it is individual chioce on the part of the employee, though it is not actually a norm in an organisation for employees to go by their first name, the chioce rests on the individual.

I think it's okay to use random usernames that your employees like. Using your first name may look more professional, but you can't force yourself to use a username you don't like.

Well It looks nicer and more professional if every staff member had their first name, but in the end it doesn't matter much. You can't really force someone to change their username.

There is no problem when staff use their first names some even use their nicknames but it’s fine with me I don’t know about others but I have no problem when it comes to that

As long as you are identified by such name, it doesn't matter either your first name or last name. the major thing needed is your identity to be easily noticed at all time.

I think it's up to the staff members whether they are comfortable using their first name or not. I think it's completely fine.

What are your thoughts about staff who use their first name? Do you think it's more professional? Or does it not matter?

I actually do think it's more professional and helps the member feel a bit more comfortable with going to the staff member about things.
Since it all comes down to the organization and also how they see such a move in the office, I don't think anyone has a problem with a staff member using his or her first name.

I believe that organisational culture is something that is going to play a huge role in things like this and it is something that personally I do not have a problem with.

I don't see anything wrong with a staff member utilizing any old username that he likes. Perhaps choosing a first name presents a more professional image, but you can't make someone choose a username they don't like.

Actually it depends on the kind of work you engage or they do. there are some kind of risky worked that staffs are not supposed to used there real identity for there life security after the job get done.

I don't mind staff using their first name as long as they are comfortable with that. However, I don't mind even when they don't use their first name. However, I like staff haing a human sounding name.
