Spammers Who Are Not Bots

I will IP block usually if they somehow get through my spam filter. Sometimes they will switch up IPs so I will block e-mails as well. Usually, it only takes once or twice for them to give up.

I don't block users unless they post some offensive and hateful content on the website. I usually give 3 warnings before blocking them, but if they post harmful & hateful posts would block their ID & IP address immediately.

There are some forums that i have seen where in order to create a new thread you have to go through an approval process on the post and whilst this can be tedious it is a good way to ensure quality content.

While this can be time-consuming, it is an excellent technique to assure high-quality information. In some forums that I have seen, you must go through an approval procedure on the post in order to establish a new thread.

hese have to be blocked by hand or using some special utility. What do you do? How effective is what you do?
All kinds of spammers must be blocked because it can harm your site. You never know what they're actually doing on your site knowingly or unknowingly.

I've never been in a situation where i had to block users for posting offensive content as i don't own a website currently. If I were to find myself in such a situation, then i would block their IP and ID address.

IP blocking is usually the best remedy, but there are VPNs out there and people are able to change their IP fairly often. As well, they have ways of getting over hurdles we set up to stop them.

I use a mix of blocking emails, IPs and so on.

Trying to block them all by hand might be so tasking and cumbersome in the end. That's why I recommend the style being used here at bizdustry - limit the number of times one can post a day.

Sometimes, I repurpose the content from human spammers. I block their accounts and edit their content so that content looks genuine and I have more content on my site

Ya there are spammers who are not bots who come to drop links on your forum or blog. It's good to specify rules concerning comments and enforce it. In my blog, all comments are placed under manual verification so I have to approve the good ones and block the rest.

That's very childish thing to do I see where people slam constantly and I think the best thing to do is ban their IP it's very wierd that some people spamm

This is one of the reason why it is important for you to hire moderators who are going to help you to clean up your community all the time whenever there are spammers who are trying to mess up everything. The moderators will delete spam posts and probably ban the users.
