Softwares Cons?

What are the cons those you found in forum software? Do you think they should be fixed?
Here's a list:
phpBB: Deleting smilies and icons, hard to add MODS.
MyBB: No advanced permissions, no Manual back up.
Xenforo: Displays errors too much and it has no advanced search system.
IPB: No Advanced search system.

What do you mean by manual back up? You can manually backup your forum within the Admin CP or via cPanel. Also how can you say that XenForo doesn't have an advanced search system, it's located right here.

I agree that PhpBB could use a plugin system (or similar), since it seems to me that it's the only thing that is holding the software back from being one of the top forum software like it used to be.

MyBB requires access to to phpmyadmin to download a backup, also never seen an advanced search in Xenforo forum.

I don't think that any software allows you to access PhpMyAdmin, because that'd be really insecure and even easier to destroy the forum if admin account gets compromised. As for XenForo's advanced search, I've linked to it in my last post, but here: Search | WebGuruBB - Webmaster Chat Forums

There is even a more advanced search option for XF lol - XenForo Enhanced Search | XenForo i believe it is more advanced anyway, I aint dropping cash to try it out. xD

I nearly never use advanced search so I have no suggestions on how to improve it.

I don't have any suggestions for other forum software, because I'm only using MyBB which is luckily getting rid of the table structure in 2.0 so there's no reason for me to suggest that improvement anymore.

Manual backup from the software itself - Thats a good idea imo. I mean the way wordpress export works, its kinda easy to do.

My main negative with XF is that every other software seems to be able to display GIF avatars, but for some reason there isn't even a mod for it... the only way to display them is to completely mess up the size of all avatars which makes it very irritating.
