Should new employees be trained even if they know what to do?

This is the reason why I am always of the opinion that nothing should be left with chance especially when it comes to work because there are some mistakes that you're going to make as a staff and it's going to haunt the business for a very long time with the kind of damage control that they are going to be required to do in order to put things right again which is why training is very important.

There are a lot of companies that even take their staff for a refresher training most times. You know those yearly or 3 year refresher courses where they get updated on the changes that have happened in the industry. So, no matter how experienced a staff is, there is need to go for training most times too.

Companies need to be doing this often. There's trainings makes their staffs to work in a very professional way. Trainings makes you very sharp and proactive rather than reactive. Training should be carried out in companies twice in a year.

No matter the level of knowledge and understanding you believe that you have on any kind of job which you have been hired to do, I believe that it is still necessary for the company to put all their new workers to the same training to make sure that everyone understands how the company expects their staff to operate by observing the company's rules, regulations and ethics.
Every new employee should be orientated and trained on the new job he is to start. Many good companies have these policies of having in house training before the new staffs are asked to begin, so that they could know all the operations involved..

I would not train an extremely experienced staff who has been working in the company for a really long time. This is because they have enough experience and they may not require training until or unless the company changes the way it carries out business operations.

Whenever there's a change in the company's mode of operation, it doesn't matter if the worker is an experienced staff, they need to be trained on the new model. There's no way they are going to know how to use the new model unless they are trained on it.

The way companies do with their staffs in training is good as they won't be treating the staffs like they are trainees. Their full salaries are paid even when they are in training. The workers won't have any reason not to take their trainings like it's a real work.
