Clearly I will be an immediate contender to .com proprietor however I will add my contort and want to fabricate a fruitful site.

Should I purchase .net or locate another related .com space for this specialty. I won't reveal the specialty DO NOT ASK! Is highly confidential! just kidding ?

If the .com extension is taken, you could consider doing some modifications on your keywords in a way that would enable you have your own .com domain. It's unarguably the best of all extensions.

I think .net is probably the second best domain after .com so yes, if you already have your website name set and you can't find .com then .net is not a bad option

Yes why not, you can buy it but only thing you need to take care is that .com domain is not regular websites as many webmaster just register domain name and do domain parking or leave it inactive otherwise visitors might confused and instead of going on your .net they might ended up to .com website.
