It would depend on what you mean by presenting. Do you mean in terms of how you welcome members, what the forum looks like in terms of presentation and the first impressions of new visitors? I personally myself when visiting a forum like to see a clean, well laid out forum that is not too cluttered and has the option of a light and dark theme, so I have that choice. Having a welcome message is also nice I feel as it gives you that warm welcome and makes you feel welcomed to the forum.

I think when you’re first starting out you don’t want to have an overwhelmingly amount of forums, but to build as you go. I usually have the announcement and feedback forum at the top and the general discussion forums at the bottom, with the rest of the forums in the middle.
In terms of design, as long as you have an aesthetic design that has a matching color scheme, readable text, and is responsive then your design is pretty well set.
Keep it as simple as possible is how I go with forum design. Being too ambiguous would make it very difficult for members to appreciate your work. Simplicity is classic, so that's what I would recommend.
