Has anyone paid for specific content on their forum before? I'm talking singular threads/blog posts such as in-depth guides etc. If so, was it worth it?

I've never done this before however it was an idea which came to mind for book reviews. I'm no good at writing reviews, however there are obviously professionals out there who do it for a living. I feel it would be beneficial for the community but not entirely sure if it's worth the investment.

I’ve never bought for specific content before. I know there are people who purchase articles to be written, but I am unsure if the topic is very specific.

Your idea of Book Reviews isn’t bad, but I do wonder what if none of them really read books, or books anyone would be interested in? I think if you scoured book groups and good reads though you could make friends that would perhaps naturally create this content, if not then you could ask.

That’s a good idea, I’ll have a look into some book groups! Thank you :)

I can't say that I have ever paid for specific content on any of my forums before but I do know people that have done. I have been hired a few times for specific content as well and as long as I know I have the knowledge within the niche of their forum or website and what content they are looking for, I don't mind taking the job.

What Reverie suggested though is a good one though, book groups would be a great place to start as you know the members of these groups will be reading books and will be able to help you with great reviews that would help your site :)

Specific and long-form content is something that I'd be up for paying for, but overall it is hard to find someone with a passion that falls in line with my project goals. I have thought of paying for news articles in the past, but I never had a solid way to achieve it and one attempt was terrible.

I've never paid for any type of content for my forums. I'd rather post on webmaster communities and accumulate points in exchange for posts on my forum than dish out cash, or depend on post exchanges. I don't have the type of forum that I would think needs paid content to survive, however. I can create just about all the forum content through my expertise and willpower.

I never have but I like the idea of using pay gates on single content.

It won't work for every niche but for those that are wanting to monetize, you could likely make it work.

Don't expect to do it without working for it though. You'll need to have built a strong reputation of being a great content producer. People will buy from you when they've seen the awesomeness that you've created. Some will be hurt that you're charging and might boycott you but if your content has a strong enough reputation, you'll earn more sales than boycotts.

It's possible but it requires a strong reputation which requires hard work and giving stuff away for free from the start.

Not specifically hires or got a job done based on what we mention here. I never had a role created just for that. It's down to the owner to deal with that in most cases. However, seeing it regards getting content like blogs would come in handy :) that would be epic.

I have done exchanges and paid posting for things outside of the site. But lately more exchanges as it's cheap option :p
