Paid writing opportunites

When I was a teenager and frequently online back 10+ years ago, I used to earn a relatively stable additional income of around $200 a month by taking on some writing work online, whether it be writing blog posts or articles or writing short stories to sell for publication.

With the explosion in AI and cheap labour from abroad now with sites such as Fiverr and Upwork, it's become more and more difficult to find reliable places to source clients for online writing work, has anybody had any success in recent times making money from their writing?

I'd be interested in hearing any tips or hints you've got as well as any reviews of websites you've used in your search for clients!

I was fairly successful on Upwork but then I decided to work independently and started offering services to my clients that I originally met through freelancing sites. Everything was ok for few ears than started less orders, and then one day finally it died. After taking a break for many years, getting back to freelancing sites became difficult, therefore, I started utilizing marketplaces on various forums. I do not get a lot of paid writing opportunities but I do manage to get a few contracts every month.
