Would you have one multi-niche forum or multiple single-niche forums? In other words, would you create a single forum where you publish on multiple topics, or create multiple forums with specific niches? I choose to work on niche-specific multiple forums instead of a single forum where there are multiple topics. I think it is easier to have an audience if you focus on a single niche.

I can't imagine a site working out that crosses multiple niches unless they're tightly related and have cross-over audiences; most of them don't.

I could see a group of forums with similar niches being separate but implementing some kind of network login, e.g. sites A, B and C, if you join any one, you can instantly log into the others via that one.

My Harvest Moon forum had off-topic sections for General Chat etc so guess was a multi genre deal. We also had an RP/RPG sort of deal too. I miss it a little, but tbh am unsure if these kind of forums would do well nowadays. I've been thinking of doing it but not bringing back the RP/RPG we had. So many of the old fan sites for that series either shut down, moved to Discord, or even just to a wiki or subreddit. I prefer the old school message board over any of those things.

We have a board primarily for Graphics support. Yes we do have a general discussion section but we don't have multi topics

Personally, I call it franchising a single topic niche with your forum. It's different from having a general discussion forum. Take for instance, I know about your cryptocurrency forum which all discussions that goes on in the forum are based on cryptocurrency.

The only problem with running such a forum is that if it's not something a lot of people are familiar with, it's going to dampen the activity you get in the forum.
