Trying a two line one and get this...
personally... from what I've seen around 3 lines are typical.

Hi, this was implemented as part of our signature cleanup back in June. You are invited to post multiple links onto a single line. You're invited to also upgrade to VIP Rocketeer to support the site, which will also allow pictures and more lines in the signature for forum promotion.

Please note that, following common practices, signatures do not show on mobile.

Elaborate and highly creative postbits and signatures were very much a thing for legacy forums 15 - 20 years, when nascent forum technology required desktop for most users. But the majority of users have switched to mobile, where users just don't see postbits and signatures at all anymore.

Yeah, all I was looking at was using different astronomy quote that I change regularly and then a link to the site.
That's what I personally would consider a "basic" signature. No fancy graphics and such.

Not a big deal in the overall scheme of things.
