This morning I received an email from my web host that my website has been under DDoS attack. My forum is very small with less than 30 users and less than 700 posts. I never though a forum like this one could be under a DDoS attack. What should I do?

I am sorry to hear that. Bizdustry has been a victim. I think @The Hulk was telling me that all the package websites were under attack on FP.

I would recommend migrating to the Free Plan on Cloudflare, this is something I could help you with. Furthermore, if you are using a VPS, switch from apache to litespeed and configure litespeed WAF as well (it’s 8$ a month).

I would also recommend using Rate Limiting which is pretty much free to use through Cloudflare. Enabling under attack mode helps also.

Please let me know if you need any other advice- I know our dev @SoluDome is pretty technical in this area

The message Jordan gave us his staff on Indexforum.com was that the website was under DDoS attack too. I thought it was a joke because of how he's acted for the past two months before the website went offline but it seems like it's a real threat now with FP facing the same, @DigitalNomad forum and RIF. I'm sorry to hear you're facing the same thing now @DigitalNomad. I hope it gets resolved soon.

@AlexanderM thank you very much for the suggestion. I will definitely check the Free Plan on Cloudflare.
Thankfully, the problem has been averted by my web host. However, I will take some precautions so that it does not happen again.
I did not know package websites on FP were under attack, do we know the person behind this?
@Heatman Jordan is a businessman, he has other priorities. RIF does not mean anything to him, that's why he is taking time to restore the website

It's very good to hear that the DDoS attack have been taken care of by your web host. It can be very frustrating dealing with DDoS attack because it puts your website to a total halt.

About Jordan and RIF, you might probably be right because I can't think of anything else that's prompted how he's handled everything so far.

I'm so sorry you had to experience that @DigitalNomad I hope you've been able to correct this or take steps to prevent future DDoS attempts.

He already pointed out that his host have managed to fix the problem and everything works fine now and he's taking precautions to prevent a repeat.

@DigitalNomad I will take your permission to lock this thread as the problem have been fixed for you 😊.
