It just came to my mind to share my personal experience of my mistake as a young entrepreneur. I will keep updating this thread because its a long story which I will like some few entrepreneur to learn from and which I have learn along the way.

As an undergraduate in school then i was able to obtain a job at a company (oil and gas in particular), but last year something came up which led to our termination in the job. I'v been with this company for the past five years. The first two years I spent I don't really know what to use the little stipend I got from my savings. I don't know what to use it for. I borrowed people and never collected the money back.
So last year came I decided to do something with my life.😋 which was fowl rearing, i started with 50little chicks, already counting my profit because I use my salaries to feed them then the termination came, I couldn't afford the money for feeding and drugs, and they started dying one after the other.( a painful experience I will never forget). Then I realize I'v not been saving. Thinking that I can never have issue with my job( because I have a relative brother as one of the board at the company).

Humm, thank God you have learnt your lesson. Life is all about experiences because you understand the do's and dont's of life. Just keep your focus it is better to start small and grow it than starting big and crashing later .When you start small you want to do everything to keep business alive remembering what it took for you to be where you are now.Don't loose focus

Believing on the promise of customers. Some of them know how to convince you and yet fail to meet up to what was bargained. This will now make you to leave your product with them with hope that they will keep to the end of the bargain and at the end they will fail you. That's bad for business because you're depreciating instead of appreciating.

Anyway do not stuff this into your mind again and again. You should ignore this mistake but anyhow a good point is that you got a lesson from it and will not repeat it again. We can learn mistakes and get experience by them so move on. Thanks for sharing your mistake & experience here.

In life anything can happen whether we like it or not. We can not accurately predict the future, but we can plan the future accordingly. Now that you have made a mistake and have learnt your lesson their is nothing to worry about.

One of the greatest mistakes I have ever made was to entrust someone with my business, I trust a fellow to help run my business while I was away on an assignment but just to come back from the trip and found that the fellow was still on that spot where i left him , no improvement.

Our mistake as an entrepreneur is that we put our family in business which affect the business. There is no family in business. Moreso, we put all our trust in human being which is not suppose to be so.

Hmm. That alone is another problem on it own because most of them will even collect the goods with the promise to pay and at the end of the promise they are no where to be found and gradually debt crept in because the money was not up to the target you planned.

I know that most of the richest people on earth and entrepreneur must have one mistake that rather pull them together to move forward. We should always ensure to push further because one day we will tell the story of how we begin

A sad story of mistake, but i appreciate you because you got a lesson from that mistake and did not do this again. This is now become your experience, a man can learn from mistakes better than any mentor. Like a song, a man lean from kicks better than almond.

Oh... Am sorry for your lost, although Is bygone but is very painful to have such huge lost, you were losing your salary and the money was just flying out.. A lot has made such big mistakes in life, including myself, although mine was not chicken, mine was dog business I lost a lot I dog business.

Entrepreneurs often think they need to raise outside capital right away. But the bottom line is that you're much better off beginning by earning money on a smaller scale for your startup.
There's always a way to validate a concept on a small scale and small dollar

Lack of Funds: Another problem with the most of failing entrepreneurs is not putting in the required amount of money. It is often seen that people pursue their brilliant ideas without realizing that they lack proper funding which are needed for any particular business

Poultry business is not an easy venture that anyone will go into it without having a form of backup for the business. You should have sold those birds when they were up to 6 weeks instead of losing them and gaining almost nothing at the end of the day.

More money mistake is spending without really saving, people should learn to cultivate the habit of saving not just for uncertainty but for the future, especially people who are working with firms to get their salary paid, you should realize that one can be tossed away any day anytime.

It's very good to learn from a mistake of what we do, even from others mistake. I see mistake as a lesson but if we repeat the same mistake that is a big foolishness mistake. I have experience many mistake in my business which teach a good lesson to expert more on it.

Here are four common mistakes young entrepreneurs are guilty of making:
  • Waiting too long to launch. The biggest competitive advantage a startup has against big corporations is speed and adaptability. ...
  • Staying in control every step of the way. ...
  • Raising too much money too early. ...
  • Keeping your idea a secret.

This is pathetic. Thanks for this important message you passed. This has shown to everyone how great the importance of saving is. No matter how much you think you make as profit daily, you need to save.

I really learnt from what happened to you as a young investor even though I have known some of this things before. As a salary earner the first thing you do is to have a savings culture and stop spending recklessly so that one would have something to fall back on in days of things like this.

Over the past year, I’ve met various numbers of young people who chose to go the entrepreneurial route after high school rather than attend college.

I’ve seen students come right out of graduation with unparalleled passion and ideas about building a business. These young entrepreneurs are leading the way toward an economic future that has yet to be seen.
