General Monetizing with Freemium Content

Freemium means the product has a limited version for free and to access the full version, you will have to pay? Let's say, you offer courses, you allow people to access demo version or abridged version for free and once they use free version, you encourage them to buy the full versoion. Have you tried to monetize with freemium content or product? Do you generate a lot of sales?

I haven't used this strategy to generate more sales but I think it is something that is going to be very effective especially when you are offering something that is of high quality which will be beneficial to those who are even going to be interested in checking out the free version part of such products.
