Monetizing wastewater in urban areas

All urban centers produce colossal amounts of wastewater everyday. Most of this wastewater is not recycled. The end result is that this wastewater brings about environmental pollution problems.

I have been thinking that this wastewater can be put to productive use if it is treated and used for growing crops.
Someone who implements this idea would reap immense benefits as she/he would have a ready market to sell her/his agricultural produce.

What do you think about this idea?

I think there is a lot of money to be made with waste water treatment. However, there is just one government project that treats waste water on the river. Private companies have not yet ventured on this line of business
