Member Notification upon Post Deletion - Standard Practice or Not?

An interesting thought popped into my head a while ago as I was moderating my own community. When a post is removed due to a violation of community guidelines, breach of rules, or any other reason, some forums notify the members about the removal, providing them a reason, while others might silently remove without informing the member.

How do you handle this in your space? :unsure:

Do you always notify members when their post is deleted? Why or why not? If you do notify, what's your approach? Is it a standardized message, or a more personalized one explaining the exact reason? Do you think informing members about deletions improves transparency and trust within the community? Or does it potentially lead to more disputes?
I think this practice can significantly influence the member's trust in the community and its moderators.

I feel it's always better to notify the member of any change that is made to their thread / post with the exact reason. Being the originator of the post / topic, they have the right to know it. As you mentioned, it enhances trust & transparency which ultimately results in a stronger community as a whole. 😊
