Making websites for family and friends

Advertisement Placeholder
I've created and run a website for my family's business for the past two years now (I'm not a part of that business, though). I've also created and ran a website for a friend for a short period of time. Though, I kind of dislike running websites for others, especially family, because there's no benefit from it and I like having benefits for something I do.

Fair enough. I'm about to set up a site for my Uncle who is self employed. I don't mind doing it for free, he's family.

My family and friends don't care about websites or know anything about them, so they never ask me. I do create websites for businesses though.

I have made a website for my sister's husbands business.

It has helped him make some more sales and make it easier for his customers.

I don't think he would want me to show it since its a wholesale website. :p

It also was supposed to be a private-only for his customers. :p

I do not think my friends or family even know I can set up and run a site! My cousin also knows a lot about building beautiful sites so they mostly go to her if they need anything.

Same, my parents do not know I run forums or anything like that.

Do you get jealous that they go to your cousin instead of you? I would get angry.

Honestly I do not care much because I really do not think I would have the time to help others build websites and stuff like that. My cousin seems to really like it though because she can show her creative side.

Do you know what coding languages she knows?

But, it could get you some more money if you charge them.

I think she only creates simple sites using Wordpress. Not sure if she knows much coding. I guess I could make more money but since I am not super good at making pretty sites, I feel like it would just be a lot of work! How about you, are you a creative site maker?

I am not that creative, but I design and build websites for businesses.

I made quite a few websites for some of my friends and I did all those for free. One friend gave me some cash, but I did not ask for it.
