Living in an RV or Camper

Some of the new ones are quite nice. Well, I joked with this person on here and was saying I wouldn't camp in one, but live in one, but that's just joking. I mean, that's everyone's preference. Anyway, the new campers are awesome and aside from pressure from a wife to want the best housing possible, I would see a camper as a way to save money, cause who cares what people think anyway.

If you get a full-timer RV, you aren't really saving a lot. A decent new 4 season camper will set you back between $50,000-$125,000+ USD (depending on the size). In a lot of areas you can get a nice small house for that.... or you could when the housing market was more reasonable.
There is a cottage industry now around our area where folks are setting their RV's up and then renting them out to long term residents since it's so hard to find housing.
Another thing we see cropping up like crazy are RV "parks". They are not camping sites, but literal trailer parks catering to RV owners who are living full time in an RV - many of which were never designed for long term living.
The RV we have clearly stated in it's manual it was for short term occupancy of a few weeks at a time several times a year. The warranty for the trailer would not cover wear/tear/issues if the unit was being used for long term residency.
