Legal Trouble

Have you had to deal with any legal trouble with your forum at all?

How did you overcome it?

If not you, have you heard of other forums facing legal issues? What were they?

I've gotten threats from problem members after they've been banned, which didn't phase me. Just ignored those.

I've heard of members threatening to sue when forum owners didn't remove their posts when they requested that. Sending DMCA and cease-and-desist letters.

They can seem scary but usually they have no actual legal mumbo jumbo to back them up. Its just an intimidation tactic.

Thankfully, this has not happened to me yet. By the way, I always make sure that I am not breaking andy local or international laws whle running websites.
