What do you think of journey threads? This is where the OP will detail his journey trying to accomplish something.

They're a good idea, they hopefully keep a member coming back to the site to update :)
 
I like the idea of them and I've read couple of them, but I personally cannot dedicate myself to writing such a thread, because I'm prone to slack off and finish the project when I just feel like it.

That's right. I quite like working on something and then coming back to it a bit later when I have the time and inclination to change something. That being said, I may have to start one in the VIP area for my offline business idea.
 
A journey thread might be a good thing for a gamer forum where each member could devote an entire thread to their character's development. Or, even for weight loss, where a member could talk about their daily diet/exercise routine and chronicle weight loss success while sharing the experience with others.
