You should go for a paid domain because there are many problems associated with the subdomains or free doamins. Subdomains have a much harder time getting real, organic traffic. I believe that the only real way to get traffic using a subdoamin is to use social media but the problem is that subdomain sites look unprofessional to many people.

Well I have never really even thought get a free domain because I know that anything that is free will not be up to standard so I would prefer to pay some amount of money for it so that I can get something of high quality.

Domain is very easy to buy these days and we just 15 dollars you can get the best quality domains for your business and with that I don't see the need for you to try out something free that you may not understand the consequences.
