Trust is inevitable in business,but one really need to be very cautious when dealing with persons we have not really verify their character over a period of time,since one has discover such behavior,the best thing is to cut off ties with such fellow.Personally, I had bad experience Trusting my so called "Colleagues" too much when doing businesses together. Well, you are right. Although I will be sceptical with the way that I do business with some people. I wouldn't want to be caught in a situation where they are now thinking that I am there to take over from them. I will trust them and expect to get that level of trust from them as well.

You have to be very careful with trusting anyone at work or off work. People are not what they seem to look like. Human being are selfish in nature, if you're going to trust anyone at work, make use of your 6th sense.
Honestly speaking, I have never trusted my colleagues because they never seemed reliable to me. This was the time when I was working in different companies. However, since now i work remotely, I do not have to deal with many people. This is a good thing from my perspective.
It's better to be safe then being sorry at work with trusting the wrong colleagues. When you're going to be facing the consequences of your cheap trust, they will be very happy to have taken advantage of your being too weak.
I have met many people when I used to work offline. Most of them were quite far away from being trustworthy. What;s quite disheartening is the fact that you may think that the other person is a trustworthy person but this may not be the case at all. Therefore, I always used to be careful and I never remained in touch with those people.
If you look at how and what most of your work demands from you, trusting any of your colleagues isn't part of it. There's no job which will require that you have to trust your colleagues before a work can be done.
