.io Domains

These seem to be one of the most valuable outside the .com in the US. I mean, look at some of the auctions at https://park.io. Who has thought about investing in them and/or using them in a site? Some say the extension has a tech feeling that people like. Anyway, it's simply a national extension that has been made for general use, like the .co one.

I was thinking of buying a few of these in the past but I had changed my mind. I can't remember why I changed my mind though. I think it came down to the domain not really fitting my market. I can see it being super useful for tech, gaming, etc. though!

Well I am not sure why or how it became so big, but I assume it is due it's short and new. But still I don't see it hanging on too much. It is tho popular in the crypto world for some reason. Not sure why.

.io domain is a country code meant for British Indian Ocean territory. But is made popular by tech companies. Many tech startups host their website through these domains to appear professional and .io is unofficially considered a generic top-level domain and is considered by Google as such.
