For the average forum? No. But this is a fantastic tool for enterprise customers who want to engage with their community.

And to be fair, IPS doesn't say it's 'for the average forum', it's a tool in the tool chest, available to people on their cloud plans. Most hobbyists are simply priced out of that entire situation, but on the flip side, trying to self-host this is *technically* possible, but good luck setting it up, too many fiddly bits.
