Interstate Vs US Highway

Of course, in your nation you might have something similar. Basically, I think you can see more on the smaller highways. The bigger ones by-pass a lot.

In a nutshell... if you want to get somewhere faster... take the interstate.
If you want to see more of America... take the US Highways... a classic case of this is Route 66.
Frequently a SH may run along with the IH... but they often "branch off". We've found that out in our RV travels.

I don't like the interstate too much compared to highways because they have way too much traffic over highways generally, at least in my area and you seem to find them backed up more often because of that.

Some interstate scenery is cool like when you drive into Knoxville or Nashville Tennessee. However, countryside views, unless it's thru the Blue Ridge or Rocky mountains etc, isn't much.

Blue Ridge

Had a blast riding the Blue Ridge Parkway when I took a motorcycle trip from Texas to West Virginia to meet up with some "Dark Sider" Goldwing riders. I was riding an FJR (Dark Siding it).
