Having content gaps on a website is something that's always going to be there. It's inevitable because there are new trends which you haven't yet covered on your website. This is why it's very important to carry out content gap analysis once in a while to make sure that you have most things covered. This will stop your websites visitors from bouncing off your website almost immediately they joined because they couldn't find the contents they are looking for.

By carrying out a detailed content gap analysis, it will help you with identify missing and underperforming content compared to what your competitors have on their websites. The three forms which you look for and analyse for content gap are through keywords, topics, and media.

This is something I am aware of but will admit, that I struggle to keep up with it sometimes and that is the trend. As you say, there is so much happening all at once and keeping up with it all is not always easy, especially if you are doing it on your own.

Would be interesting to see how often others do this and what their method is :)

This is a more professional approach to content management, versus hobbyists who might write on whatever appeals to them in that moment.

As a solo forum admin, I think it's important to give yourself the patience (and the grace) to not have to be perfect and have to immediately address your content gaps but to plan on eventually addressing gaps in your content over time.
